Donor Biography
STEPHEN DAVID ROSS, Professor of Philosophy and Comparative Literature, joined the Binghamton University faculty in 1967. He is founder and director of the doctoral program in Philosophy, Interpretation, and Culture (PIC) and of the Center of Interdisciplinary Studies in Philosophy, Interpretation, and Culture (CPIC). He is author of many articles and books. His most recent titles include: The Ring of Representation; Injustice and Restitution: The Ordinance of Time; Plenishment in the Earth: An Ethic of Inclusion; The Gift of Beauty: The Good as Art; The Gift of Truth: Gathering the Good; The Gift of Touch: Embodying the Good and The Gift of Kinds: The Good in Abundance, an ethic of the earth; The Gift of Property: Having the Good, betraying genitivity, economy and ecology, an ethic of the earth.
